Oct 03 - ESG Lecture to Cover Dangers of Mobile Phone Radiation

esgA Lecture by Professor Olle Johansson, a world leading authority in the field of electromagnetic radiation and its health effects, will be held at the Charles Hunt Room in the John Mackintosh Hall next Tuesday at 7pm. Organised by the ESG, the talk will cover the issues of EMF radiation and the hazards of Mobile Phones, masts and Wi-Fi as part of the Environmental safety Group’s wider campaign of promoting the best and safest use of such technology.

The group is urging the Gibraltar Government to apply the ‘Precautionary Principle’ and lower the threshold emissions of cellphone mast antennae in accordance with the Council of Europe & BioInitiative 2012.

Professor Johansson is head of the Experimental Dermatology Unit, in the Department of Neuroscience at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

His doctoral thesis at the Karolinska Institute had the title "Peptide Neurons in the Central and Peripheral Nervous System. Light and Electron Microscopic Studies". He has participated in more than 300 congresses and symposia as an invited speaker, and with free contributions and as an invited 'observer' at an additional 100.
