Jan 05 - GSD Claims 'Unfair Competition Favours GSLP Activist'
Echoing the GFSB’s protest against ‘a private company being allowed to organise a New Year’s Eve event at the Tercentenary Sports Hall, without having to bear the same rent burden as bars and restaurants’ the GSD has called upon the Government to disclose publically how much the hire of the hall to Rock Royale Events was, on New Year’s Eve.
The Opposition claims that the company’s Director ‘is a staunch GSLP activist and the former GSLY chairperson’, which they insist, is a ‘further example of cronyism’.
The party further asks ‘what the process for rental of the hall for such events entails and whether there was any cost whatsoever born by the public in this event being held at the Tercentenary Hall.’
The Opposition also urges Government to desist from mixing festivities with its political agenda.
