Jan 16 - Gibraltar Security State Raised
16 January 2015
In light of recent terror attacks and heightened international security, the Governor has today announced that the security state in Gibraltar has been raised to substantial, with immediate effect.
A statement released by the Convent notes that ‘This is based on events in Europe and intelligence assessments. This is a precautionary measure, not a specific threat to Gibraltar.’
The statement adds, ‘you will notice an increased police presence and everyone is urged to be vigilant and report any concerns.’
