Feb 23 - International Bunkering Forum to Showcase Gibraltar's Services
Hosting the International Bunker Industry Association, the Government and the Gibraltar Port Authority will attract an international audience, who will be addressed by speakers from world leaders in the field, including Peninsular Petroleum, World Fuel Services, Intertanko, Vopak, Vemaoil and Aegean.
The forum will run between 24th and 27th February and will also include a workshop on bunkering, and an overview of bunkering in the Mediterranean. It will also feature updates on the International Maritime Organisation’s steps to improve fuel quality, IBIA’s port charter initiative, and visits to bunkering barges.
Gibraltar is one of the initial signatories to IBIA’s Port Charter scheme, which is designed to improve bunkering standards around the world through regulation, enforcement and monitoring of their operations.
Commodore Bob Sanguinetti, Captain of the Port expressed his delight in hosting the forum adding that it will provide Gibraltar the opportunity to showcase Gibraltar’s bunkering industry.
