Jul 29 - Power Cut Caused By Midtown Piling Works
29 July 2015
This afternoon’s power outage was caused when the contractor undertaking the piling in the Midtown development accidentally cut through the main distribution high voltage cables – these are the main electrical arteries that interconnect power generation in the South with the North.
Gibraltar Electricity Authority engineers are trying to determine the extent of the damage to these cables so that the damaged high voltage cables can be isolated and the restoration can be completed as soon as possible.
