Jun 01 - Childline Receives Donation From Gibtelecom
Gibtelecom donated £2,000 to Childline, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
The charity is a volunteer-led organisation which aims to contribute to the local community by protecting and supporting children in need through a pro-active strategy of education and awareness.
Childline offers a number of different services which includes the provision of a free and confidential helpline service provided by Gibtelecom. In addition, there is also an online service and a live-chat service, free counselling service to users, and an appropriate adult service which helps volunteers to accompany juveniles detained by the police.
In addition, Childline also offers an education service based on a preventative strategy with educational programmes aimed at raising awareness about locally identified areas of need for children, teenagers and adults.
A spokesman for Gibtelecom said: "We are proud to support such a worthwhile cause."
