Jul 10 - Convent Hosts Childline Dinner
During a dinner held last week at the Convent, Trustees of Childline Gibraltar were able to explain the charity's work to many of the Rock's key players.
His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Davis hosted a ‘Black Tie Dinner’ in the Convent's formal dining room which proved to be an ideal setting for some of the charity's trustees to describe the various services which Childline provides to the community.
The Governor commented, "The Convent is delighted to have the opportunity to help Childline raise awareness of their life-changing, indeed, on occasion life-saving, and vital work. Jo and her wonderful team of volunteers need our support; every little bit makes a big difference. The vulnerable in our Community rely on Childline; let's show Childline that they can rely on our support."
Chair of the Trustees, Jo Abergel remarked, “It is difficult to explain just how grateful we are to the Governor and Mrs Davis. They were really wonderful hosts and the Convent's dining room was a fabulous setting for this dinner. The event gave us a chance to meet some of Childline’s key and potential donors and also to explain how we make maximum use of our funds, funds which were boosted significantly by the event's ticket price. We cannot thank Lt Gen and Mrs Davis enough.”
