Cancer Relief And Local Cancer Charities Announce A Charity Fun Run And World Cancer Day Awareness Day

To mark World Cancer Day 2026, Cancer Relief Gibraltar, alongside local cancer charities, have organised two events: a Charity Fun Run and a World Cancer Day Awareness Day.

A statement from Cancer Relief Gibraltar follows below:

Following the success of last year’s event, the Charity Fun Run returns for its second year, continuing to bring the community together in support of those affected by cancer.

These events aim to raise awareness, foster community engagement, and support everyone affected by cancer.

World Cancer Day Charity Fun Run

Date: Sunday, 1st February 2026
Time: Registration from 9:00 AM
Location: Casemates Square, Gibraltar

The Charity Fun Run offers a positive and inclusive way for the community to come together for a great cause. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome, with the option to take part in either a 5km run or a 3km walk, making it suitable for walkers and families.

The event will begin with a fun warm-up session led by Puro Fuego Fitness, followed by the run or walk depending on participants’ preference.

Participants will be able to choose which cancer charity they wish to support when registering, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the cause closest to their heart.

This event is a celebration of community spirit and a visible show of unity and support for those impacted by cancer.

World Cancer Day Awareness Day

Date: Wednesday, 4th February 2026
Time: 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: The Piazza, Gibraltar

Cancer Relief Gibraltar, in collaboration with local cancer charities, invites the public to attend an interactive World Cancer Day Awareness Day.

Representatives from participating charities, alongside a Clinical Nurse Specialist from Cancer Relief Gibraltar, will be available to answer questions and share valuable information about prevention, awareness and the support services available within the community.

The event will highlight the World Cancer Day theme: United by Unique, which recognises that cancer is more than just a medical diagnosis. It is a deeply personal experience. Behind every diagnosis is a unique human story of resilience, love, and hope. A people-centred approach to cancer care, grounded in compassion and empathy, leads to better outcomes and stronger support for individuals and families.

This event provides a valuable opportunity to learn more about available services and to recognise the collaborative efforts of Gibraltar’s local cancer charities in delivering personalised care and support.
