Jun 26 - Gun Pull Up Main Street

A one and a half ton gun was pulled up Main Street today to help raise money for the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Benevolent Fund and GBC Open Day.

Senior and Warrant Officers came together to support Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Mark Randall who is walking from Cardiff to Gibraltar for charity.

The aim is to collect £15,000 for the charities, and to date more than £7,000 has been collected.

Captain John Pitto, Company Commander Major Jamie Allan and Second in Command Major James Gracia took part in a 15km tabbing walk on a treadmill set out in Casemates Square, carrying 20kgs of weight which infantrymen carry into battle.

Regimental Sergeant Major Dean Castrey, who organised the gun pull, was joined by his Officer’s Mess. The pull started at Casemates Square and ended at the Anglican Cathedral.
