Jul 02 - Cyclists Raise Over £300 For Cancer Relief
A ‘dress down’ day at Bayside Comprehensive has raised over £300 for Cancer Relief. Organised by student Tom Meenagh, the charity event collected a total of £320.
Tom raised the money with the intention of adding it to the amount collected for a gruelling charity challenge which will see him cycle down Portugal with his father Wayne. However, the pair decided to hand the money over to Mark “Coops” Cooper of the ‘Clock To Rock’ cycle challenge and he, in turn, donated it to Cancer Relief.
Coops, accompanied by two other cyclists, is setting off from Big Ben on 4th July. The trio will make their way down France and Spain and will arrive in Gibraltar on Saturday 18th July. Local cyclists are invited to join them for a final lap as they enter Gibraltar and head towards Casemates for a charity party. Stay tuned for more details...
