Sep 30 - RGP Marine Officers Qualify As RHIB Instructors
Five Royal Gibraltar Police Marine coxswains have qualified as rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) instructors, following the completion course delivered by UK-based Budgie Power RYA Recognised Training Centre.
The centre’s director Brian Murdoch is a retired UK Ministry of Defence Police officer who served as a Force Police Marine Trainer during 19 of his 30 year service career.
The training is tailored for law enforcement fast interceptor RHIB’s and covered areas such as close quarter manoeuvres, pacing, towing, emergency drills and chart work, amongst others. Their certification as instructors is now valid for a period of five years and is endorsed by the Gibraltar Maritime Administration.
