Apr 21 - Two Teenagers Receive Rehabilitation Order Following Eastern Beach Sexual Assault
A pair of 13-year-old boys were handed a youth rehabilitation order with a supervision requirement at the Magistrates' Court this week.
This comes after the teenagers were found guilty of sexual assault at a Juvenile Court trial in relation to an incident that took place in Eastern Beach nearly two years ago.
On Wednesday, one defendant was given a 12-month youth rehabilitation order with a supervision requirement.
Today, his co-defendant was given a 15-month youth rehabilitation order with a supervision requirement, which the Lay Magistrates said reflected his higher level of culpability.
Karl Tonna appeared for the Crown. Justin Rodriguez appeared for one defendant, and Leigh Debono appeared for the other, on behalf of Chris Miles.
The defendants cannot be named for legal reasons.
