Drunken Servicemen Fined Following Main Street Incidents

Two servicemen were fined by the Magistrates’ Court this morning following a drunken incident over the weekend.
At about 18:00 last Saturday, Anthony SHARKEY (40) and Michael JENKINS (37), both stationed at the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, were seen to be clearly drunk in Main Street and behaving in a disorderly manner.
As well as damaging a shop’s mannequin, SHARKEY assaulted a member of the shop’s staff and, when police officers arrived at the scene, SHARKEY and JENKINS were both argumentative and quarrelsome.
In the Magistrates’ Court this morning, SHARKEY pleaded Guilty to two counts of Common Assault, one charge of Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated and one charge of Destroying or Damaging Property. He was fined £600.
JENKINS pleaded Guilty to two counts of Common Assault and one count of Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated and was fined £500.
