Sep 24 - Chief Minister Leaves For Blenheim Literary Festival

The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, will leave for London this afternoon.

Mr Picardo will be introducing the annual Gibraltar Lecture at the Blenheim Literary Festival. The Gibraltar Lecture is devoted to matters of major cultural, historical or international importance at the invitation of the Government of Gibraltar.

This year's Gibraltar Lecture will be delivered by Naval historian Professor Andrew Lambert of King's College London. Entitled “The Royal Navy and Gibraltar in World War II”, the lecture will mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the War by exploring Gibraltar's part in it.

The Chief Minister will return to Gibraltar tomorrow evening. In his absence, the Acting Chief Minister will be Dr Joseph Garcia.
