Nov 04 - Antony Worrall Thompson And Dale Pinnock To Appear Literary Festival
Well-known celebrity chefs Antony Worrall-Thompson and Dale Pinnock have confirmed their participation at this year’s Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival.
Mr Worrall-Thompson (pictured, left) is an English restaurateur, television presenter and radio broadcaster, who has been managing and owning several successful restaurants since the 1980s. Known for his individual approach to food, his first restaurant, ‘Ménage à Trois’, in Knightsbridge, was innovative in that it only served starters and puddings.
He made his television debut on BBC2s ‘Food and Drink’, before appearing on ‘Ready Steady Cook’ from 1994. In 2003, he appeared in the hit series ‘I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!’ and then hosted BBC2's ‘Saturday Kitchen’.
Dale Pinnock known as ‘The Medicinal Chef’ after his bestselling book by the same name, has already published nine cookbooks. He has a regular slot on BBC Radio 4 and is a popular face in television programmes such as ‘The Alan Titchmarsh Show’, ‘Saturday Kitchen’, ‘This Morning’ and ‘The BBC Good Food Show’.
Mr Worral-Thompson will prepare a festival lunch at the O'Callaghan Eliott Hotel on Saturday 14th November and will be interviewed by Don Sloan at the Hotel at 5.00pm on the same day. Tickets are available for both these events.
Mr Pinnock will devise the menu for the Festival dinner on Sunday 15th November and will appear in discussion with Don Sloan. Further information will be made available on the website soon.
Minister for Tourism, Samantha Sacramento, welcomed the addition of these well known chefs to the festival’s roster of participants.
Ms Sacramento said: “Both Antony Worrall-Thompson and Dale Pinnock are well known celebrity chefs in UK with a distinguished and successful career behind them in a very competitive and evolving industry. The Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival is delighted to welcome them, as food and drink is very much a component part of the festival and our celebration of culture.
“The programme has turned out to be quite varied and exciting with something of interest for all sections of the community. I very much look forward to it getting underway and am confident that the events will be embraced by the public as has been the case in the previous editions.”
