Sep 30 - New Satellite Means Gib And Southern Spain To Lose British Channels
30 September 2013
The satellite launch that is feared will lead to the disappearance of British channels from Gibraltar and southern Spain has finally gone ahead.
The Astra 2E satellite was launched into space from Russia late last night, some two months after its original launch date.
The new satellite will replace the old Astra 2D satellite and it is believed that its signal range will no longer include southern Europe. This will affect the free to air channels such as ITV and the various BBC stations.
