Oct 23 - Randy Brecker Offers Jazz Masterclass
Jazz trumpeter Randy Brecker offered a jazz masterclass yesterday evening at the O’Callaghan Eliott Hotel. The participants, including the students who attended the workshops at John Mackintosh Hall, were introduced to the main foundations of jazz.
This was one of the first events marking the third Gibraltar International Jazz Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture in conjunction with the Gibraltar Jazz Society.
Mr Brecker performed some songs with local musicians, such as George Posso, delighting the audience.
Prior to this, the Minister for Culture, Steven Linares, opened the festival at a press conference with Randy Brecker, George Posso, and Elie Massias and Juan Galiardo, two of the teachers who participated in the workshops earlier this week.
Mr. Linares spoke about the upcoming performances which kick off tonight with a concert featuring the George Posso Trio and Eliane Elias. Concerts will begin at 9pm at Queen’s Cinema.
The Box Office will be open at 7pm for those who haven’t bought their tickets yet.
