Mar 23 – Gibraltar Security Council Meets After Brussels Attacks – Threat Remains “Substantial”
The Gibraltar Security Council (GSC) says it has reviewed security in Gibraltar in the wake of the terrorist atrocities in Brussels yesterday.
The GSC says it considered the current threat level and has concluded that Gibraltar should remain at Substantial level. The GSC says it will continue to monitor the situation and will review the threat level on a regular basis.
The Governor, Lt Gen Edward Davis, said that the thoughts of the people of Gibraltar are with the people of Brussels. While there was no specific threat to Gibraltar, Lt Gen Davis said that it was important that we all remain alert but not alarmed, and to report anything suspicious to the police.
The GSC recommends that people be aware of the advice in the RGP Stay Safe document which can be found on the RGP website.
