Jun 08 - EU Referendum Registration Deadline Extended In Gibraltar

The deadline for anyone wishing to register to vote in the EU Referendum on 23^rd June has been extended until midnight tomorrow Thursday 9th June.

A huge demand from UK voters on the electoral roll website last night caused it to crash shortly before the midnight deadline last night.

Paul Martinez, European Electoral Registration Officer for Gibraltar, confirmed that although Gibraltar voters are not affected by the UK website problems, they are still accepting forms at his team's offices at the Gibraltar Parliament.

These will be processed following a decision by the Electoral Commission in the UK and the regional office for Gibraltar and the South West region.
