Aug 13 - Picardo Says Today’s Border Checks Were “Ridiculously Stringent And Disproportionate”
13 August 2013
Following today's incoming queues at the border, the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, has issued the following statement:
"Despite the close attention of much of Europe and the World's media, Spain has today again imposed ridiculously stringent and disproportionate checks on cars entering Gibraltar, thereby causing motorists a delay of over four hours. This unwarranted action re-emphasises the need for an early investigation by the European Commission into the manner in which Spain is acting and the need to expedite legal action where appropriate."
