Sep 23 - Right Wing Website Claims “Peaceful Protest” Halted By Gib Police At Border
An attempt to stage a protest by the TNS (Trabajdores Nacional-Sindicalistas) trade union was halted at the border by the Royal Gibraltar Police according to the right wing website lafalange.com.es.
The report claims that five “comrades” and two children approached the border with patriotic t-shirts and Spanish flags and were initially questioned by the Policia Nacional who noted their I.D numbers and then allowed them to proceed.
The group claims that the Spanish authorities “collaborated” with their British counterparts as they were immediately met by Gibraltar officials on the other side of the border and subjected to what they claim were a series of “insults, searches and thefts.”
One particular member of the protest group was apparently stripped naked and was told that he “had no guts” and was “only brave on Facebook.”
According to the website, the group’s Spanish flags were not returned.
