Jun 12 - Government “Pleased To Note GSD Clarification”
The Government says it is pleased to note the clarification in the GSD’s recent press release relating to Mr Feetham’s speeches in Spain.
The Government says that although Mr Willy Anidjar-Serfaty is “not well-known in financial services circles” it is nevertheless “pleased to learn from him” that Mr Feetham quoted the accurate figures whilst speaking in Spain. This included references to the 135 TIEA-equivalent agreements and not just the 27 TIEAs which Mr Feetham chose to refer to in his GBC interview. Nevertheless, says the Government, getting this clarification has been like ‘pulling teeth.’
The Government says that unfortunately, instead of simply owning up to this straightforward error by Mr Feetham, the Opposition has “resorted to bluster, petty insults and mud-slinging.”
The Government hopes that Willy Anidjar-Serfaty’s clarification now allows us to draw a line under what it calls an “unfortunate GSD gaffe.”
