Sep 24 - Isola Hosts Lunch For Swiss Professionals In Geneva And Addresses Invest 14 Forum

Whilst in Geneva, Albert Isola, Minister for Financial Services, hosted a financial services lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues for Swiss financial services professionals who were guests of a delegation comprising members of the Gibraltar Funds and Investments Association (GFIA) and Gibraltar-based firms. The Gibraltar delegation also included Joanne Beiso, Head of Funds Supervision at the Financial Services Commission.

Minister Isola addressed the attendees on Gibraltar’s robust and diversified economy, and the joint cooperation between the Government, private sector and the Financial Services Commission in promoting the jurisdiction. During his address, he also emphasised the close ties between Switzerland and Gibraltar and the ‘Swiss solution’ by which Swiss asset managers could access the EU single European market through Gibraltar.

The following day, Minister Isola made a keynote address at the Invest 14 Forum held at Le Bâtiment des Forces Motrices conference centre in Geneva on “Gibraltar: The European Union jurisdiction of choice”. The Forum was held over two days and over 500 delegates attended.

Minister Isola commented: “Our visit to Geneva, jointly with the private sector and our regulator, has been very successful and has enabled us to once again engage with the Swiss decision-makers who advise clients and manage their assets. We look forward to building on our relationships and welcoming a delegation from Switzerland in the near future.”
