Apr 30 - GSD Supports Continued Commitment To Health And Safety Issues
The GSD Opposition has congratulated Unite on its continued commitment to celebrate Workers Memorial Day and bringing health and safety issues to the fore.
The Gibraltar Social Democrats say they are entirely on board with this program and agree with the principles of it.
A statement from the party continued: “Furthermore, while we agree with the Chief Minister’s statement that no government wants to see accidents in the workplace, the GSD would like to remind the government and the public that accidents in the workplace do happen, and not, as Mr. Picardo said on Newswatch on Tuesday evening, just in the time when the GSD were in administration.
“In the last couple of years for example, our community has had to endure accidents like the one by Bishop Fitzgerald School where large pieces of debris fell from the new Charles Bruzon building onto the roof of the school, an accident that could have borne fatalities. Also, the accident by the new housing estate in Devil’s Tower Road where a crane toppled, luckily did not have any dire consequences.
“The GSD would also like to wish all of a Gibraltar a happy and safe May Day bank holiday.”
