Apr 12 - ESG Supports SDGG's Decision To Stop National Day Balloon Release
12 April 2016
The ESG says it agrees with the statement made by GONHS on the "unfair criticism" the SDGG has received after it took the decision to put a stop to the release of balloons on National Day.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The ESG agrees with the GONHS that there is abundant evidence as to the polluting effects of the type of balloons used on National Day.
"The decision to stop this release of balloons has been taken after much consultation because of the political connotations and the ESG therefore commends the stand taken by the SDGG and hopes that energy and focus will now be shared by the community in the search for an environmentally friendly and vibrant alternative.”
