Jun 15 - Gibraltar National Dance Team To Compete In Dance World Cup

The Gibraltar National Dance Team is all set to compete at the Dance World Cup to be held in Jersey between the 25^th June and 2^nd July 2016.

The dancers selected all qualified from the 2016 Gibraltar International Dance Festival and choreographers for this project include: Nathan Conroy, Joelle Montegriffo, Yalta Pons, Lilian Montero and Darion Figueredo. The Team will be competing against thousands of dancers from 39 countries and five continents and Gibraltar will be represented in the Mini Kids, Children, Junior and Adult categories.

The 2016 Team Gibraltar for Jersey are:

Jenaya Barcelo, Nathan Caines, Jerome Celecia, Arianne Cruz, Max Cruz, Simon Hammond, Jyra Hendrick, Janis Jackson, Anna Jimenez, Poppie Levy, Kayley Livingstone, Jodie McMahon, Lauren Montero, Arianne Payas, Zyanne Rios, Javan Robertson, Lior Snir, Johan Tante, Susana Traverso Ruiz, Adrian Turner, Chelsie Victor, Nathan Villalba, Amy Wink and Tyler Zarb.

Adrian Turner has been chose as flag bearer at the opening ceremony on Saturday 25th June, held in St Helier, Jersey.

Argus Insurance is the main sponsor of the Team and pictured in the photograph is Argus Insurance CEO Tyrone Montovio and dancers who will be taking part at the Dance World Cup.

National Team Manager, Tyron Walker said: "Our Organisation is extremely grateful to Argus Insurance for their association with our participation at the international Dance World Cup and their kind sponsorship. I take this opportunity to also thank the Ministry of Culture and all the other local entities that have already come on board to support our trip."

The Gibraltar National Dance Team, will be hosting a presentation at the Victoria Stadium Sports Hall, on Friday 17th June at 7:00pm, and will have the participation of various dance pieces, in solo, duet, trio, quartet and group categories. Entry is free of charge, and the general public is welcome to attend and show their support for the Gibraltar National Dance Team 2016.
