The Gibraltar Women's Association welcomes the Bill to amend the civil marriage act to allow for the marriage of same sex couples.

A spokesperson for the Association said: "Every step on the road to equality is vital to a fair society. We hope that the legislation will be passed by parliament, after the required waiting period required as per the constitution, without further delay.

"We wish to congratulate the Equality Rights Group for campaigning for this fundamental right."
