Oct 07 – ERG Says MoD Workers’ Jobs “Must Be Defended”
In a statement to the press, an Equality Rights Group spokesman has said that ‘Unite the Union has rightly expressed shock at the recent announcement of severe local MOD job losses. ERG stands fully and unquestioningly by Unite and all affected workers in both solidarity and defence of ordinary working people’s right to a just and decent livelihood.
‘This is a particular time and situation we're living through in Gibraltar when Gibraltarians must be ready to stand together to protect the interests of working people and of our Community. ERG therefore calls on Civil Society organisations to respond to the call recently put out by Unite the Union in defence of the many MOD workers currently facing this drastic and unacceptable loss of their jobs'.
