Oct 13 - GTA “Extremely Concerned” About MoD Job Losses
13 October 2016
The Gibraltar Teachers’ Association (GTA) /NASUWT says it is extremely concerned with the MOD's intention to cut jobs across all sectors of their workforce.
The union says this is a “blatant attempt” at downsizing their operations in Gibraltar will result in a smaller job market and cause rising unemployment.
The GTA adds that it also sends all the wrong signals following the EU referendum of the MOD and the British Government's commitment to Gibraltar.
A statement concluded: “As a responsible Trade Union, the GTA stands shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with our colleagues at UNITE on this issue and we offer our full support to all MOD workers faced with this uncertain future.”
