Nov 01 - Zombies Take Over Gibraltar

Shrieks were heard across town on Saturday evening after a boat full of infected zombies arrived in Gibraltar.

A group of brave adventure-seekers took on the challenge to find a cure to ensure the infection doesn’t spread across the city.

Participants in Sunbow Projects’ Z-Day event had to fulfill their task by running across Gibraltar working as a team to find a cure without getting infected.

Starting off at Boyd’s in King’s Bastion Leisure Centre, the teams ran across town and the Upper Town area, making sure to avoid the dreaded Black Zone, and made their way back to Resistance HQ with the cure.

Along the way, the participants came across groups of flesh-eating, brain-hungry zombies and stopped at Rock on The Rock to find the password to get them back to safety, before heading to Wellington Front, which was the last stop.

Defenders were placed along the route to help the teams overcome slow-moving zombies, who had just been infected, or blood-covered Shadows who ran after cure-seekers with the smallest of sounds they met, but were they being honest with you?

One participant told YGTV he had a great time, and is already looking forward to next year’s event. He said the best thing about the event was the anticipation that built across the stops, not knowing what you might come across. As a fan of zombie movies, he said the highlight of the tour was coming across Pub, the man with the van, who was inspired by Woody Harrelson's character Tallahassee from Zombieland.

The Zombie-walk was followed by an after-party at Boyd’s where participants could party with the undead.
