Sep 19 - World Peace Day Will Be Marked In Gibraltar
Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September.
The General Assembly of the United Nations has declared this day to be a day of global cease-fire and non-violence, a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
His Excellency the Governor Lt Gen Edward Davis will be speaking at this year’s event held on Thursday 21st September at Boyd’s, King’s Bastion Leisure Centre from 6pm to 8pm.
Organised by the Integral Yoga Centre Gibraltar, the event will also feature talks by Minister of Culture Steven Linares, Vice Chancellor of the University of Gibraltar, Professor Daniella Tilbury, Yoga Centre founder Nalanie Chellaram, Amber Turner and Ole Dammegard, with performances and peaceful chanting by One Light.
The event is open to everyone and entrance is free of charge.
A spokesman for the Yoga Centre added: “All around the world people are standing up for peace. This is our chance to join them.”
