GRA Publishes Consultation On Investigation Procedures, Mergers, Cartels And Penalties

The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority (the “GRA”), designated as the Gibraltar Competition and Markets Authority (the “GCMA”) has published a consultation aimed at producing certain guidelines and policy statements dealing with investigation procedures, interim measures in merger investigations, applications for leniency in cartel cases, cartel prosecutions and administrative penalties.
In accordance with the Competition Act 2020, the GCMA has a duty to provide public awareness on the ways in which competition may benefit consumers and the economy of Gibraltar. Furthermore, the GCMA has a legal obligation to prepare and publish guidance material and statements of policy on its responsibilities and use of its powers.
