Deputy Mayor Hosts Mayor’s Awards 2025

The annual Mayor’s Awards Ceremony was held on Friday 21st March 2025. His Excellency the Governor and Minister Cortes also attended the Ceremony held at the Mayor’s Parlour in City Hall.
Following nominations from members of the public and endorsed by the Awards Board, Deputy Mayor Nicky Guerrero conferred seven Mayor’s Award as follows:
Ms Lilian Carroll Perez
For her dedication to the Albert Risso House Committee for over 13 years, on behalf of over 100 residents.
Ms Karen Truman
For her exemplary dedication and impact on the lives of those living and affected by dementia.
Ms Amanda Parsons Yeo
For her compassion for the older generation and dedication to the Activities Department in the ERS for 23 years.
Mr Joseph Cortes
For his constant involvement and support for our Community and in local Churches.
Ms Sylvana Jurado
For her outstanding and unselfish commitment to the furtherance of Sequence Dancing in Gibraltar.
Mr Victor Angel Calderon
For his notable contribution and involvement in supporting members of the South District Citizen's Social Club.
Mr Victor Francis
For his selfless dedication to the music scene in Gibraltar for over 60 years.
The Deputy Mayor, Nicky Guerrero, said: “The Mayor’s Awards are a way to say thank you to so many in our community, who give of their own time to carry out some very worthy tasks. We are fortunate to live in a community where so many individuals contribute to making our lives better in so many ways.”
