EasyJet ESG Senior Lead Visits Gibraltar

Last week, Gibraltar hosted the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Senior lead for easyJet Holidays, Scott Lawson.

A statement from the Government follows below:

The operator, which is one of the UK’s leading holiday providers and features four of Gibraltar’s  hotels in its programme, has been on a large growth trajectory over the past 3 years.

The main objective of the visit was to illustrate at first hand Gibraltar’s connections between  Ministerial teams, private sector collaboration and community engagement through education and  participation, showcasing Gibraltar’s approach to fulfilling its climate obligations and sustainable  practices.

After an overview was given by Ministerial teams, the agenda included onsite explanations  of nature conservation and rewilding projects in the Nature Reserve, the repurposing of historic  buildings including Parsons Lodge and King’s Bastion, and the preservation of leading attractions  including the newly refurbished WWII Tunnels and St Michael’s Cave.

The Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP,  said: “We are continuously looking at ways to collaborate with partners like easyJet and show how  Gibraltar is a competitive destination, especially in terms of our climate agenda.  Increasingly, business brands and suppliers are looking to their own supply chain to align values.  Gibraltar is in a good position to illustrate the destination’s work here for future generations.”
