DPC Gives Full Planning Permission to Eastside Development

The Development and Planning Commission has given Full Planning Permission for the Eastside Development, after allowing members the opportunity to see the final positioning of the main breakwater.
The approval is subject to remodelling the revetment at the end of the sea wall to reduce its visual impact.
A majority of DPC members have now confirmed that they are satisfied with the southernmost extent of the main breakwater, which forms part of the coastal protection plans for the development.
A the Government has said that the Eastside is an important infrastructure project that will deliver affordable homes, leisure facilities and green spaces in a manner that respects and protects its surrounding natural environment, in keeping with the Government’s commitment to biodiversity and marine conservation.
