2025 Commonwealth Essay Competition Winners

The winners of the 2025 Commonwealth essay competition were presented with their prizes by the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia yesterday. Dr Garcia is the Minister with responsibility for relations with the Commonwealth.
Students were asked to submit an essay on the topic of “What value does the Conmonwealth bring to Gibraltar?” In their contributions, they pointed to areas like trade, political connections, diplomatic links and educational cooperation. They also highlighted the value of Commonwealth Scholarships and of the Commonwealth Youth Parliament.
The winners were:
Lower Primary - Evie Trinidad
Upper Primary - Luca Trinidad
Secondary (Westside) - Aditya Dhanwani
Secondary (Bayside) - James Vinet
The Government is very grateful to those who took part.
The objective of the exercise remains to raise the profile of the Commonwealth among young people in Gibraltar.
