VACANCY: Chief Executive Officer at GBC

Applications are invited for the role of Chief Executive Officer at GBC, Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation. The post will work together and report directly to the GBC Board and is responsible for the efficient management of all services provided by the Corporation as well as all its business interests.
The CEO is tasked with overseeing all operations, assuming ultimate responsibility for all output in production and editorial matters, managing the Corporation’s finances, HR issues and commercial sales, as well as performing the functions of commissioning editor for third-party programmes, and leading on international programme acquisitions and content contract negotiations.
This job is suited to someone with executive experience in the broadcast sector or who has the ambition and passion to want to lead the Corporation, building on its successes and taking GBC to the next level. Importantly, the successful candidate will need to be driven by the values of public service media and broadcasting that ensures full editorial independence and impartiality, while also showing business acumen with the goal of increasing commercial revenue.
The following requirements are desirable: Previous full time working experience in television and/or radio, including in a broadcast CEO/Managing Director’s role, previous journalism experience at editorial level, in-depth knowledge of corporate governance, finance and performance management principles, together with organisational and time management skills.
