Chief Minister Trip To Labour Party Conference Cancelled Due To Flight Cancellations

The Chief Minister’s planned trip to Liverpool for the Labour Party Conference will not go ahead as scheduled due to adverse weather conditions having led to the cancellation of flights to and from Gibraltar.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The Chief Minister’s planned trip to Liverpool for the Labour Party Conference will not go ahead as scheduled.
Adverse weather conditions have led to cancellation of flights to and from Gibraltar, preventing the Chief Minister from travelling to the United Kingdom today.
The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP, said: “It is regrettable that I will not be able to host Gibraltar’s reception at this year’s Labour Party Conference as planned. However, safety and the realities of air travel in adverse weather must come first. I am pleased that Gibraltar will nonetheless be represented at the Conference by members of our team and Gibraltar House, who will continue engaging with Ministers, MPs and officials on Gibraltar’s behalf. I look forward to resuming these important conversations at the earliest opportunity.”
