Government Dismayed At Violent Assault On RGP Officer
07 October 2025

The Government of Gibraltar says it is “dismayed and disappointed” following the violent assault against an officer of the Royal Gibraltar Police.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The Chief Minister, who learned of the incident whilst in New York ahead of his address to the United Nations Fourth Committee, has written to the Commissioner of Police to enquire as to the wellbeing of the police officer.
The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC, said: "Violence of any nature has no place in Gibraltar. It is abhorrent that a police officer acting to protect our community was the victim of a violent attack. Every law abiding member of our community will join me in wishing them a quick recovery."
