Below follows the Convent's statement regarding the passing of Admiral of the Fleet Sir Benjamin Bathurst, GCB:

The Convent is saddened to announce that Admiral of the Fleet Sir Benjamin Bathurst GCB  died peacefully on 12 October 2025.

He was visiting his son, Lieutenant General Sir Ben  Bathurst KCVO, CBE, in Gibraltar. Admiral of the Fleet Sir Benjamin was 89 and his wife of  66 years, Lady Bathurst, was with him when he passed away. 

As a mark of respect, the Convent will fly the Union Flag at half-mast on Monday 13 October  2025.
