Book Signing Event ‘Palabras al Viento’

The Gibraltar Heritage Trust will be holding a Book Signing Event on Saturday 1st November with local journalist and broadcaster Alice Mascarenhas MBE, for her new book Palabras al Viento: A Collection of Works by Journalist and Broadcaster Manolo Mascarenhas. The signing will be held at The Main Guard Gift & Bookshop, 13 John Mackintosh Square between 11:00am and 1:00pm.
This collection of works explores the life and broadcasting career of Manolo Mascarenhas from 1946 to 1972, with a particular focus on The Palabras al Viento which he recorded and delivered on Radio Gibraltar between 1965-1970, during the closed frontier years, when the community faced a barrage of lies and insults from the anti-Gibraltar Spanish Campaign. Of 260 episodes, this book includes 48 of 50 recordings that have survived.
