Hurricane Melissa Appeal Red Cross Tins Now At City Hall And John Mackintosh Hall

Following Hurricane Melissa, the Office of the Mayor have announced that those wishing to donate can now do so via the Red Cross tins that are available at the John Mackintosh Hall and the City Hall reception.
A statement from the Office of the Mayor follows below:
On Tuesday 28th October 2025, a devastating category 5 hurricane ‘Hurricane Melissa’ struck Jamaica causing widespread destruction.
Thousands of homes have been destroyed, lives tragically lost and critical infrastructure damaged.
Recognising the historical connection between Gibraltar and Jamaica with many families evacuated there during World War II and the twinning of Kingston with Gibraltar, the Office of the Mayor reached out to the Red Cross Gibraltar Branch, that was already in the process of launching an appeal to support relief efforts.
In addition to the procedures launched by the Red Cross, anyone wishing to donate to this cause, can now also do so in the Red Cross tins, that are available at the John Mackintosh Hall and the City Hall reception.
The fundraising will continue until 5th December 2025.
