Lewis Llamas Crowned IDO Junior Male Showdance World Champion 2025

The GNDO team, who qualified at the Gibraltar Open Dance Championships held in June 2025, travelled to Italy to represent Gibraltar on the international stage.

The Gibraltar National Dance Organisation is proud to celebrate an outstanding three days of competition at the IDO World Showdance & Performing Arts Championships in Castellanza, Italy — culminating in Gibraltar winning a World Championship Title.
The GNDO team, who qualified at the Gibraltar Open Dance Championships held in June 2025, travelled to Italy accompanied by GNDO President, Mrs. Wendy Garro, to represent Gibraltar on the international stage.
DAY 1 – STRONG START FOR GIBRALTAR
The competition opened with Kiara Brasil, who made her IDO debut in the Children Solo Female Showdance division with her piece “Ashes”, choreographed by Caitlin Rodriguez. Kiara delivered a beautiful performance, qualifying for the Semifinals and finishing an excellent 13th out of 48 dancers.
In Improvisation, Alexie Santos advanced to the Semifinals, placing among the Top 10 out of 41 dancers.
In the Junior Improvisation section, siblings Liana and Lewis Llamas represented Gibraltar, with Lewis advancing through two rounds to qualify for the Quarterfinals out of 70 entries.
DAY 2 – OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES ACROSS THE BOAR
The momentum continued on Day 2 with Alexie Santos performing her expressive Showdance solo, “Mythical Creatures” (choreography by Caitlin Rodriguez). She once again reached the Semifinals and secured a strong 11th place out of 48 dancers.
In Improvisation, Alexie delivered her best result of the championships, finishing 7th, just one place short of the Final, concluding her successful competition journey.
In the Junior Improvisation category, Lewis Llamas finished an impressive 22nd out of 70 dancers, securing his place in the next day’s Showdance solo event.
DAY 3 – GIBRALTAR CROWNS A NEW WORLD CHAMPION
The final day marked a historic achievement for Gibraltar.
Lewis Llamas, competing in the Junior Solo Male Showdance category, performed “Human Extinction”, choreographed by Tian Cehić.
His powerful and emotional performance earned him the GOLD MEDAL, out of 7 finalists and with 5 out of 7 judges placing him in 1st place, securing the title of:

A new World Champion for Gibraltar.
