Weather Advisory For Gale Force Winds - Saturday 7th February

The Government has issued a Weather Advisory for Gale Force Winds from Saturday 7th 1:00pm to 10:00pm Saturday 7th February.
A statement from the Government follows below:
THIS ADVISORY IS VALID FROM 1 PM TO 10 PM SATURDAY 07 FEBRUARY 2026
Fronts associated with another low pressure system approaching the west of Iberia will cause south-westerly winds to increase through Saturday morning and into the afternoon.
Means will increase to strengths of 25-30 KT (46-56 km/h), with frequent gusts of 40-45 KT (74-83 km/h) expected.
Isolated gusts between 45-50 KT (83-93 km/h) may occur at times.
Rainfall, perhaps heavy at times, will accompany these winds.
This weather advisory is issued when there is a risk of Gale Force winds, with mean wind speeds of 34-40KT (63-74 km/h) with gusts to 43KT (80 km/h) or more. Travel conditions will become difficult at times, particularly in exposed areas.
