Gibraltar Horticultural Society – Spring Flower Show 2026 Premiering The Urban Oasis Award

The Gibraltar Horticultural Society have announced that the Spring Flower Show Competition and Exhibition 2026 will take place from 14th to 17th April at John Mackintosh Hall.
A statement from the Gibraltar Horticultural Society follows below:
Participants wishing to enter the competition are asked to bring their exhibits to John Mackintosh Hall between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm prior to judging on the 13th of April 2026.
Judging will take place on 14th April from 10:30 am.
The Adult Section will be judged by Sally Welch, an experienced flower arranger with many years of involvement through the Estepona Flower Club.
The Junior Section will be judged by Jessica Leaper from Whole Wild World.
In addition, the Spring Flower School Displays created by local schools will be judged in situ by Jessica Leaper and Farzane Pons.
A highlight of the event will also be the Urban Oasis Award, which celebrates outstanding greening efforts across Gibraltar. This category will be judged by a panel including:
- Andrew Abrines
- Paul Passano
- Andrea Monteiro
The Awards Ceremony will take place on 14th April at The Convent at 6:30 pm. Prizes will be presented by Sir Ben Bathurst, John Cortes, and Andrea Monteiro from the Cascais Construction, Company sponsors of the event.
During the ceremony, the winners of the Spring School Flower Display's and the Urban Oasis Award's will be officially revealed.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until 17th April, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful showcase of horticulture, creativity, and community
The Gibraltar Horticultural Society encourages everyone in the community to visit the exhibition and celebrate Gibraltar’s long tradition of gardening and floral art.
We will also be having an Urban Oasis Award Walking Tour on the 22nd April at 18.00 p.m. meeting at Vinopolis in town followed by drinks and tapas.
