Communications Act Exemption Regulations

The Government has today introduced the Communications (temporary exemption from Part 4A) Regulations of the Communications Act 2006.
A statement from the Govenrment follows below:
HM Government of Gibraltar has today introduced the Communications (temporary exemption from Part 4A) Regulations of the Communications Act 2006.
The Regulations enable Government to temporarily pause a part of the Act to allow it with the Regulator, industry operators and stakeholders to assess how the intended objectives can be more effectively achieved in the public interest and once relevant judicial findings have been considered.
HMGOG believes that additional consideration will ensure the Act delivers the best possible outcomes for citizens, consumers and the wider economy, and that this would be most beneficial and effective by pausing Part 4A of the Act in this manner.
