GSD Call For Clarity On Possible Changes To The Academic Calendar
12 May 2026

The GSD have called on Government to update the public on possible changes to the academic calendar.
A statement from the GSD follows below:
The GSD calls on Government to publicly update parents as to the state of its discussions on possible changes to the academic calendar. Any changes to the calendar will inevitably impact on families and their organisation of day-to-day issues.
As such it is important that students and parents be made aware with ample time should any changes be envisaged. It would also be important that the Government publicly explain why it would want to make such changes.
There are many families concerned about these issues and it is right they be updated on whether changes will be made, why and when.
