Youth Exchange Group Embarks On Weekend Residential Ahead Of Jersey Programme

In preparation for the upcoming Jersey Youth Exchange Programme in July 2026, a group of young people and staff from the Youth Service travelled to Cádiz for a weekend residential.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The Cádiz residential took place at Centro de Educación Ambiental y Actividades en la Naturaleza and was funded by the Luce Foundation Trust. The trip focused on outdoor educational opportunities, team building and personal development.
A range of activities took place, including outdoor challenges and a high ropes course. The group demonstrated teamwork, communication skills and adaptability, all skills they will need in Jersey, where they will share experiences with the Jersey Youth Service.
Senior Youth Worker, Rebecca Figueras said: "This weekend residential has been a very positive experience for the group. Our staff were able to see how young people supported each other through challenges. The trip was very much enjoyed and participants are all excitedly looking ahead to Jersey.”
The Youth Service continues to provide meaningful informal educational and developmental opportunities for young people through programmes that build confidence, independence and positive relationships.
