Prof. John Cortes, Minister for Education, Environment and Sustainability, opened the Young Enterprise Company Programme Finals at Central Hall on Wednesday, celebrating the achievements of fourteen finalist teams from across Gibraltar's schools.

The event brought together some of Gibraltar's most promising young entrepreneurs for a day of presentations, interviews and exhibitions, with each team demonstrating the creativity, commercial awareness and entrepreneurial drive that has come to define the programme. His Excellency the Governor, Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst, also attended, alongside a distinguished panel of judges from across Gibraltar's business community.

My Mind Matters from Gibraltar College were crowned Overall Winners and will represent Gibraltar at the Young Enterprise UK Company Programme Finals on Wednesday 3 June. The team's product, which supports children's mental health and emotional wellbeing, impressed the judging panel with its innovation, purpose and commercial thinking.

HM Government of Gibraltar wishes My Mind Matters every success at the UK Finals on 3 June.

Speaking at the event, the Minister Cortes said: “I’m amazed at how every year we get completely different products. The imagination that these young people have, year after year, something completely takes me by surprise. Congratulations to the families for supporting them, to the teachers for supporting them, to their mentors. Above all, to these young people — I’ve spoken to virtually all of them during the course of this programme and I really enjoyed chatting to them. You’ve got a friend here; you need anything, you all know exactly where I am. Congratulations, and well done.”
