Mar 18 - St. Bernadette's Art Exhibition Raises Funds for Cycling Classes
Following an art exhibition held at Sacarello’s portraying a number of abstract pieces produced by users of the St. Bernadette’s Resource Centre, in October last year, Minister Sacramento received a cheque for £2000, last week, on behalf of the Care Agency, for the paintings that were sold.
Commenting on the matter, the Minister noted, ‘it gives me great pleasure to see St Bernadette’s working with the community. In this case it resulted in a very professional exhibition at Sacarello’s. It is clear that those who attend the sessions thoroughly enjoy expressing themselves through art and they have been given the opportunity to share their beautiful pieces with the public. Thanks must be given to Merche and Michelle for their tutorship and for inspiring them and showing them how to express their talent, thanks also to Sacarello’s for hosting the launch of the exhibition’.
The money raised will be used to purchase a specialized tricycle to enable more of the service users to access popular cycling sessions that the centre carries out at St. Anne’s school with the support of the Royal Gibraltar Police.
